Kaia'ulu Ethos is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support and aid to those in need, and in this case our very first project is an animal sanctuary for the homeless animals wandering around our community and those animals in need of medical assistance. The goal of this project is to provide a home for these animals so they can experience love, stability, proper diet, and needed medical care. This is all aimed towards rescuing them from homelessness and socializing them to be able to integrate into adoptive families, so they can be what they need to be, loving support animals to people who need and want them. As an added benefit, we are attempting to find a qualified veterinarian and veterinarian specialist assistants to provide care to all animals within our community and to others who decide to venture to us for animal care. We believe we can be host to a world class animal facility right here in our OceanView community.
Our raffle prize for this project is a supercharged 2010 Jaguar XKR convertible with only 51,574 miles on it (although the mileage may climb as we take it to the jaguar dealer, detailing shop, etc.) Sadly, we were able to acquire this vehicle from the estate of an acquaintance where it sat garaged for the past 10 years. Click on the button below to see more and be directed to the raffle conducted by a professional third party raffle management company.
Although flawless counts are nigh impossible to come by - a census in January 2024 by the US Dept. of Housing and Urban Development estimated that 40,056 veterans nationwide were homeless on any given night. It is estimated by the Veterans Data Central that of that 40,056 homeless Veterans, approximately 306 of them reside on the Big Island of Hawaii alone https://veteransdata.info/states/2150000/HAWAII.pdf which is where our immediate focus is. This means that for whatever reason, men and women that have served in our military, putting their lives on the line doing what our government has requested of them, regardless of whether it was a combat or support role are living out in the harshness of the open environment. In order to provide shelter, food, support and an opportunity for them to build a meaningful life and contribute to the community we have started the The Lokomaika'i Veterans Project.
