Participation, not a test.
Veterans Forward is designed to build with the veteran rather than treating the future homeowner as a spectator. Participation will always reflect the veteran’s abilities, circumstances and interests.
Physical labor is not the price of receiving help. A veteran may frame, paint, organize materials, make design choices, landscape or contribute in another meaningful way. The goal is agency: when the keys are handed over, the veteran has participated in creating the home that becomes theirs.
